Sara Madson

8A fourth generation quilt maker, Sara Madson has been quilting and teaching for more than forty years. Several years ago, she worked as a co-editor for Chitra Publication and many of her quilts appeared in their magazines. Her works have been juried into and won ribbons in several national and international quilt shows. Drawing or drafting her own designs, often inspired by antique quilts, her work has been described as intricately detailed traditional quilts. Most of Sara’s quilts are made with a hand-held needle, simply because she loves handwork. Recently her focus has been on completing many of the projects started over the years, giving priority to show quilts and quilts for her many grandchildren. She is excited to return to teaching this year to help students complete their own beautiful quilts.
