Back Basting Stitch Sampler

Back Basting Applique Stitch Sampler
Class Description:
Taught by Barb Eikmeier
email: deikmeier@kc.rr.comBackBasting Applique is a needle turn technique – the thing that makes it different is the way you prepare the appliqué motifs, by basting from the wrong side. If you are curious about trying back basting appliqué, or have wondered how to use back basting in certain situations, or you just want to improve your skills, this technique class is for you. Inspired by flowers featured on vintage botanical instructional charts, Barb’s Back Basting Appliqué Stitch Sampler is focused on technique. Make Barb’s Poppy block and learn about inside and outside curves and points, skinny stems, small circles, shapes that overlap on one edge and tuck under on another edge, reverse applique, two tone leaves, and transferring embroidery lines. Bonus lessons include Barb’s method for trimming completed blocks and adding inked lettering to label each skill building technique.AcademySkill Level: Confident Beginner and up
