Dana Keeler

Dana Keeler is the current owner and designer behind Pacific Rim Quilt Company, based in Kenmore, Washington. Inspired by the rich tradition of Hawaiian quilting, Dana creates original patterns that celebrate the flora, fauna, and spirit of the islands bringing a distinctly Hawaiian aesthetic to quilters around the world.
Dana grew up surrounded by fabric, thread, and creativity. Her grandmother was a skilled tailor who crafted exquisite lace dresses, and her mother carried on that legacy with award-winning sewing and a natural gift for interior design. Dana spent countless hours alongside them and while she absorbed their love of sewing, she ultimately found her own calling in quilting.
As a hula dancer, Dana felt a deepening pull toward Hawaiian culture, and it was her first Hawaiian appliqué class with Nancy Lee Chong that changed everything. She dove in wholeheartedly, expanding a simple wall hanging into a queen-sized quilt. Three years later, when she completed that first Hawaiian quilt, she knew she was hooked for life.
A passionate and experienced educator, Dana has presented and taught handwork learning labs at Road to California and has shared her love of appliqué with quilters across dozens of guilds nationwide. She travels extensively on behalf of Pacific Rim Quilt Company, bringing her workshops and Hawaiian-inspired designs to students around the world.
Dana specializes in needle-turn appliqué and is devoted to making the traditions of Hawaiian quilting accessible, approachable, and joyful for quilters of every skill level. Whether she is in her studio designing her next pattern collection or standing before a classroom full of students, her enthusiasm for the craft is contagious.
